Festival Info

Freakout started as a big-ass party for all of our friends masked as an amateur festival. We were morons and held the first few fests in December. The point was to do something unique. After 10 years of touring, finding new music and making new friends, we've grown Freakout into something truly special. Thousands of people make the trek to see bands perform from all over the world; it rains, venues get sticky and loud, occasional psychedelics are consumed to enhance the experience. I've still never quite experienced anything like it. This isn't Bumbershoot or Block Party - we really, really don't want your kids at this event. Freakout is a musician's festival, and it always will be.
– Festival Co-Director, Guy Keltner.
Freakout Festival is a comprehensive sensory experience. The weekend offers gritty guitars complemented by hypnotic light shows, along with tasty libations to enjoy while checking out bands that you’re unlikely to catch elsewhere in the PNW.
In recent years, Freakout Festival has been featured in Brooklyn Vegan, Rolling Stone France, KEXP, the Seattle Times and more.
This year, we are super proud to announce Freakout in the Streets, a new addition to the festival that's been a long-awaited dream of ours. With an outdoor stage, beer garden, food trucks and more, all FREE & open to the public (21+), Freakout in the Streets will help to raise money for two of our favorite local non-profits, the Vera Project and Black Fret Seattle.
